1. Genuine New Zealand Possum Fur

We use 100% real New Zealand Possum hide because it is a superior motivational tool for high-drive dogs.

• Unique Hollow-Fiber Structure: Unlike other furs, possum hair is hollow, which allows it to trap and radiate a "gamey" scent longer and more effectively.
• Enhanced Durability: Possum hide is naturally more resilient and thicker than rabbit, making it ideal for dogs that tug with high intensity.
• Sustainable & Eco-Tanned: Our fur is a byproduct of sustainable environmental management and is eco-tanned without harsh chemicals to keep the natural attraction high.

2. USA-Made Climbing-Grade Webbing

The handle is constructed from genuine tubular climbing webbing. This is significantly stronger than standard flat nylon. The tubular design provides a "soft-edge" grip that is comfortable on your hands during vigorous play while maintaining a high break strength.

3. Internal High-Quality Shock Cord

Our signature bungee feature uses a heavy-duty internal shock cord. This is designed to absorb the initial impact of a strike, protecting your dog's neck and spine—as well as your own shoulders—from jarring movements.

4. Industrial Layered Backing

To ensure the longevity of the natural fur, the possum hide is secured to an industrial-strength backing. This reinforcement prevents the hide from stretching or tearing under pressure, ensuring the toy maintains its shape and integrity over time.

5. Reinforced Industrial-Strength Stitching

We use heavy-duty bonded nylon thread with reinforced stitching patterns at all critical stress points. This "over-engineered" approach ensures that the bond between the webbing, bungee, and fur is rock-solid.

Possum is a lightweight hide, meaning it's not as sturdy and durable as sheepskin and kangaroo but it is stronger than Rabbit by a few degrees. Using a Possum tug is an excellent way to build interest in tug, but be aware that possum will wear out over time. We've designed our possum tug to last as long as possible, using three layers of possum hide backed with faux suede secured with industrial stitching -- but we still recommend use with care to ensure you get the most life out of your tug.

All handmade tugs and ball tugs are designed for ‘play and put away’. These toys are tools designed to be used under interactive, adult supervision only. For best results and longevity of your tug, ensure you put it out of reach when not in use, and take it out only for interactive play. With correct use, your dog should not have any opportunity to chew or destroy the tug. Any repair claims made will be subject to assessment of usage.
